Anyone tried running a dedicated server at home?

I have an older server in my basement and have been toying with the idea of setting it up as a dedicated urt server. It's a dual 800 xeon with 1gb ram. I have a 8mb/1mb cable connection, so I should be able to handle the traffic. Anybody tried this before? Is it worth it?

remember it uses electricity! if u dont care then do it! i dont know shit about servers, ask mouse or vino!

Mouse has,cos his co workers play too and his boss is smokin joe and his boss and him make servers wen they all are playing together ask mousey for help and i will get help from douze

It would work for a smaller server, some ISPs don't like people running dedicated servers though since its shared bandwidth. I say try it and see how it goes

I keep my computer running 24/24 h 7/7 days.If someone teaches me how to do a server i will do it on spot
